This partnership project involves joint promotion of the historical heritage of Minsk and Siedlce in the field of medicine through joint events commemorating local heroes – members of medical services and the creation of memorial chambers in local hospitals. The aim of the project is to promote and improve access to the historical heritage of Minsk and Siedlce in the field of medicine. Thanks to the planned investment elements including purchase of exhibition equipment, conducting historical lectures and organizing cultural events, i.e. exhibitions and historical re-enactments, it will be possible to both increase protection and access to the local historical heritage in the field of medicine and promote it among local communities. It is assumed that the project will increase awareness of the history of medicine among the inhabitants of the Polish- Belarusian borderland; historical re-enactment, exhibition and lectures will allow the inhabitants to visualize how difficult it was for their ancestors to practice the medical profession and how dynamically medicine developed only in the last century in Siedlce/Minsk. The outputs of the project will be memorial chambers in Minsk and Siedlce hospitals, as well as cross-border events in the form of exhibitions, lectures and historical re-enactment, promoting the local history of medicine, which is not well known in society even at the national level. Thanks to the investments, the partnership of hospitals in Minsk and Siedlce will allow not only to commemorate local heroes and historical achievements of local medicine, but also to show similarities and differences in the development of medicine in both countries, which may translate into discovering previously unknown elements of local historical heritage and perhaps the development of medicine as science.
