The project provides for twinning between the institutions involved in the project, work meetings, a promotional campaign and road investments in order to improve the connections with secondary and tertiary TEN-T transport nodes. The project concerns the improvement of the following road and bridge infrastructure elements: – DP 1439 S Kamesznica-Milówka-Rajcza-Ujsoły-country border and 2 bridges forming parts of the 1439 S road, – DP 1447 S Rajcza-Sól-Zwardoń, – no. II/520 Lokca-Zákamenné-Oravská Lesná and 2 bridges forming parts of the road no. II/520, – III/2270 Zákamenné-Novoť-country border. All roads whose sections will be reconstructed constitute a significant complement to the TEN-T network. Road no. 1439 leads from the border crossing point in Glinka, through the Rajcza node, to the connection with road no. S69 in Gmina Milówka. Road no. 1447 is, in its way, an alternative to the connection to S69 road in Gmina Rajcza and indeed starts in the Rajcza node. From the technical perspective, the cross-border nature of those roads is as follows – the vehicles moving along the Slovakia-Poland and Poland-Slovakia lines use the following routes: a) as part of Road no. 1439: – the border crossing point in Glinka (from/to the Namestovo-Dolny Kubin-Trvdosin node through the TEN-T Rhine-Danube corridor) – road no. S69 in the direction of Żywiec, Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, Kraków, etc. (TEN-T Baltic Sea-Adriatic Sea corridor); b) as part of Road no. 1447: – road no. S69 from the Slovakia border side (from/to the Cadca, Krasno nad Kysucou, Żylina node – TEN-T Rhine-Danube corridor) in the direction of Rajcza, and further alternative roads for S69 in the direction of Żywiec, Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, Kraków, etc.; c) On the Slovak side: road no. III/2270 leads from the border crossing point to Zákamenné and, through road no. II/520, connects to secondary and tertiary TEN-T network nodes, i.e. Krasno nad Kysucou and Žilina, and in the opposite direction – Namestovo, Dolny Kubin, Tvrdosin. The works will be coordinated by construction site inspectors. (English)
