The Ardennes Destination is famous for its unspoiled nature and its exceptional environment. Nevertheless, a cross-border structured offer around this potential is still lacking. The Ardennes Eco-tourism project has therefore been designed to strengthen the cross-border tourist appeal of the Ardennes and to enhance the natural, cultural and gastronomic heritage of the Ardennes through a truly sustainable cross-border tourism development strategy. With the marketing of this offer, the region will be able to offer new cross-border tourism products, mobilising the entire chain of services to meet a growing demand for responsible products that are closer to nature. The project enables the development of a network of tourism providers who are committed to the sustainable management of their activity and supports them in their progress, especially through an eco-management audit. A call for the "eco-tourism and innovation" initiative launched in March 2018 will bring new benefits in line with the values ??of the Ardennes and sustainable development. The restaurant owners are also mobilised so that they become the first ambassadors of local products towards tourists. Finally, gentle hiking trails (accessible on foot, by bike, mountain bike or electric bike) are being created to discover the Ardennes on both sides of the border without using a car. (English)
