    The current project is introducing energy efficient lighting in Strumyani and energy efficient building and lighting in Vasilevo. The project is educating the general public on environmental issues and raises their involvement and care for the environment. Thus it will have a long-term impact on lowering the electricity and heating consumption in the two municipalities, which is reducing the CO2 in the cross-border area. The administrations of Vasilevo and Strumyani reducing their costs respectively for school maintenance and street lighting. The target investments reducing the CO2 emissions with 20 % for each of them by reduced the consumed energy with 35% in comparison with the start point of both the investments. The current project raised the capacity of local public institutions to implement EE measures and use RES. Main outputs: exchanged expertise and capacity of 30 municipal administration representatives to apply EE policies, shared good and bad practices in EE management of public infrastructure in municipalities of Vasilevo and Strumyani; ensured engagement of external lecturer to present good samples EE methods and RES of public infrastructure from the cross-border area and abroad, thus providing opportunity for municipal staff to acknowledge with positive practices in the field of EE and RES in public infrastructure; raised capacity of 30 representatives of municipal administration and managers of public infrastructure of Strumyani and Vasilevo - the application of new technologies for distant management of heating systems, innovative isolation technologies, new EE heating, automatic management systems for control of lighting, RES in public infrastructure and its combined application; mounted 424 LED street lamps for safety of traffic and people overnight; reduction of CO2 emissions with 20 % generated by electricity consumption and reduction of the consumed energy by street lighting with 35% in comparison with the consumed energy before the introduction of LED lighting; improved energy performance of a municipal building with a surface at the floor of 121.41 m2, reduction of CO2 emissions with 20 % for the target investment in the Preliminary School “Goce Delcev” in Sedlarci and the consumed energy of the building will be lower with 20% in comparison with the start point of the investments.
