The project Nature Experience "Discovering the Danube Valley" wants to give cycling along the Danube a new facet and inspire new target groups for the Danube Valley between Passau (Hofkirchen) and Schlögener Schlinge (Aschach), by those interested in nature should be specifically addressed and car travelers should be motivated to switch to cycling, hiking or even a combination with the ship. The trend towards circular routes in cycling tourism will be taken into account with the offer of a safe route through the Danube-Engtal with a natural experience. By forcing round routes and emphasizing the nature experience also for the off-season, the cross-border Danube region can be sustainably strengthened and further developed on the basis of its natural resources; with a reduction of resource consumption and pollution in leisure and vacation.
