FAUNAPYR contributes to the protection of the Pyrenean ecosystems by improving our knowledge on animal spatial distribution. The project reinforces the collaboration of partners and potential actors in terms of data interchange, visualization and exploitation for the conservation of the Pyrenean biodiversity and sustainable tourism. Moreover, the project contributes to value and socialize the contribution of the citizen science in the understanding and conservation of the Pyrenean ecosystems. FAUNAPYR involves 6 French and Spanish partners, as well as an Spanish associated partner, with experience in the fields of the generation, management and exploitation of biodiversity data (with currently millions of records), including the contribution of citizen science. With this global approach, FAUNAPYR generates an added value on the information available at a regional scale. FAUNAPYR contributes to the Axis of the 2014-2020 POCTEFA Program, with the following expected main tangible results: - Creation of a collaboration network involving entities managing fauna data - Online platform to visualize and consult spatial distribution data on the Pyrenean fauna - Creation of tools allowing a better use and exploitation of fauna data in order to improve biodiversity conservation and tourism activities linked to fauna observation (English)
