Organise events, actions and other events with at least 500 participants available to the entire population of the city. The Madách Imre Literary and Playing Days Festival in Balassagyarmat aims to strengthen the creative spirit of the acting groups and to develop alternative, self-acting theatres. In addition to at least ten domestic companies, we hope that three or four performances from the Highlands and Transylvania will also compete this year. This is how this three-day festival will be the decisive event of the Hungarian-language amateur theatre in the Carpathian Basin. The work of these companies is characterised by dedication, continuous workshops and constant experimentation and refreshment with classical theatre language. Competition productions are appreciated by renowned theatre professionals. The jury will recognise the best performances, directors and acting performances on the closing day according to tradition, with diplomas and prizes. The performances follow each other in three locations: the room theatre, which creates a very intimate atmosphere, the building’s playground, and the chamber room for almost two hundred people. On the second and third day of the festival in the morning, the jury will evaluate the performances of the previous day. A workshop is organised with the participation of professionals with a high level of professional knowledge, players and interested people, which will encourage and help the groups to develop further. The accompanying programs of the event are improvisation games, invited lectures and music events, which strengthen the reception experience, enhance the atmosphere of the festival and promote networking. Planned programme of the festival: Friday 21 February 2020: From 3 p.m.: competition performances from 5 p.m.: official opening of the festival from 6 p.m.: competition performances from 23:00: joy music, dance, entertainment, improvisation game Saturday, February 22, 2020: From 10 a.m.: peer review and workshop from 3 p.m.: competition performances from 23:00: jazz concert Sunday, February 23, 2020: From 9 a.m.: peer review and workshop from 1 p.m.: improvisation game from 13:00: on the basis of the experience of previous years, 12-15 groups are welcome. First day 6, second day 8-9 productions are planned. A necessary condition for the operation of the workshops and the formation of the festival atmosphere typical of the ISZN is the continuous presence of the invited guests and the debuting associations. At the time of the event, our sound equipment pool needs to be completed, which we intend to solve by purchasing equipment and equipment, so the events can be financed in the longer term. For archiving purposes, we make video recordings of the presented productions, which can provide useful instructions for the development of the professional work of the players and directors at all times. The culmination of the cultural life of Balassagyarmat is the three-day ISZN, attracting hundreds of actors and professionals. Due to the gaping nature of the festival, its traditions, and in order to promote amateur theatre, the performances can be viewed free of charge and the accompanying programs can be visited. With the free movement of styles and theatre languages, this festival enriches the development of amateur art communities and the cultural programme of the city and region. ISZN has played a decisive role in language and culture care for Hungarian actors living in a minority situation beyond our borders, and has an important function of preserving identity. The Palóc Farewell and Folklore Festival, which is now 25 years old in Balassagyarmat, received the title Palóc Traditional Days in 2016. With the name we wanted to show that on the eventful three days we will summon a complete circle of tradition, which, in addition to the tourist and aesthetic aspects, is meant to be an expression of dance, music, fairy tale, material culture and customs that can make it attractive to younger generations by reviving an old but unforgotten sense of life. Every year we invite three settlements to introduce themselves: a Palóc village in Nógrád county, a highland and a non-county village (we are still in the process of negotiating.) We would like to see the local values of the invited settlements “discovered” and become a public domain. Installation and tableboards in the various buildings and courtyards of the city centre give a picture of the past and present of the guest settlements. In addition to getting to know, the traditional singers, dancers, musicians and storytellers on the stage wish excellent recreation opportunities. When the custom games are presented, the required behavioural patterns of the old village communities also come to life. A város teljes lakossága számára elérhető, legalább 500 fő részvételével megvalósuló rendezvények, akciók, egyéb események megszervezése. A versenyprodukciókat neves színházi szakemberek értékelik. Archiválási céllal a bemutatott produkciókról videó felvételt készítünk, melyek mindenkor hasznos instrukciókat nyújthatnak a játszók, a rendezők szakmai munkájának fejlesztéséhez. A megismerésen túl kiváló kikapcsolódási lehetőségeket kívánnak a színpadokon fellépő hagyományőrző énekesek, táncosok, zenészek, mesemondók. A szokásjátékok bemutatásakor a régi falusi közösségekben elvárt, megkívánt viselkedési minták is megelevenednek. Szándékaink szerint kézműves mesterek most is működő műhelyekben mutatják be a tradicionális népi mesterségek fortélyait, a közönséget is bevonva az alkotás folyamatába. 2020-ban a viseletkészítés találkozónk kiemelt témája. A palóckonyha jellegzetes ízeit külön „udvarban” kóstolhatják meg a Balassagyarmatra látogatók, akiket biztatunk ar (Hungarian)
