Siekiant gerinti valstybinės reikšmės parkų būklę bei pritaikyti saugomas teritorijas lankymui, Šakių rajono savivaldybė numato investuoti į Gelgaudiškio dvaro sodybos parko tvarkymo projekto įgyvendinimą. Gelgaudiškio dvaro sodybos parkas (toliau – parkas) yra trečias pagal dydį istorinis dvaro parkas Lietuvoje, įkurtas XVI a. Parkas yra žymus bei pritraukia nemažai lankytojų dėl XIX a. Gelgaudiškio dvaro sodybos rūmų - vieno originaliausių ir didžiausių dvarų ansamblių Lietuvoje. Parkas yra įtrauktas į kultūros vertybių registrą (kodas 25706) bei pripažintas nacionalinės reikšmės kultūros paminklu. Vertingųjų savybių pobūdis - kraštovaizdžio, želdynų (lemiantis reikšmingumą retas)._x000D__x000D_Pagrindinė problema, kurią sprendžia projektas – šiuo metu parkas tvarkomas nepakankamai, prasta parko fizinė būklė nesudaro sąlygų išnaudoti nekilnojamos kultūros paveldo vertybės turistinio potencialo. Užžėlę kraštovaizdžio reprezentavimui tinkamos erdvės, nepatenkinama parko želdynų estetinė būklė, kyla grėsmė autentiškai parko erdvinei struktūrai ir dendrologinei vertei. Prasta parko fizinė būklė nesudaro sąlygų išnaudoti nekilnojamos kultūros paveldo vertybės turistinio potencialo. Siekiant išsaugoti šio valstybinės reikšmės parko vertingąsias savybes, priimtas sprendimas investuoti į parko infrastruktūros tvarkymą ir pritaikymą lankymui._x000D__x000D_Projekto nauda. Įgyvendinus numatytas investicijas, būtų išsaugoti Gelgaudiškio dvaro sodybos parko vertingieji elementai, padidintas parko patrauklumas ir žinomumas, parkas būtų pritaikytas lankymus. Projekto dėka būtų paskatintas parko lankomumas, sudarytos sąlygos kultūros, turizmo ir rekreacijos plėtrai Šakių rajono savivaldybėje. (Lithuanian)

In order to improve the state of parks of national significance and to adapt protected areas for visiting, Šakiai District Municipality is planning to invest in the implementation of the management project of Gelgaudiškis manor park. Gelgaudiškis Manor Park (hereinafter — the park) is the third largest historic manor park in Lithuania, founded in the 16th century. The park is famous and attracts a number of visitors due to the 19th century Gelgaudiškis Manor House — one of the most original and largest estate ensembles in Lithuania. The park is listed in the Register of Cultural Property (code 25706) and recognised as a cultural monument of national significance. The nature of valuable features — landscapes, greenlands (determining the significance rare)._x000D__x000D_The main problem addressed by the project — currently the park is not managed sufficiently, the poor physical condition of the park does not allow the tourist potential of the immovable cultural heritage property to be exploited. The area suitable for landscape representation, the unsatisfactory aesthetic condition of the park’s greenery, the authentic spatial structure and the dendrological value of the park are threatened. In order to preserve the valuable features of this park of national significance, a decision was taken to invest in the management and adaptation of the park’s infrastructure for visiting._x000D__x000D_Project Benefits. After the planned investment, the valuable elements of Gelgaudiškis Manor Park would be preserved, the park’s attractiveness and visibility would be increased, and the park would be adapted for visitors. Thanks to the project, the park’s attendance would be encouraged, conditions for the development of culture, tourism and recreation in Šakiai district municipality would be created. (English)
