Trakai Education Centre (hereinafter ‘the Centre’) was established on 12 July 2013. The aim of the Centre’s activities is to serve public interests by carrying out educational, training and cultural, healthy lifestyle skills, environmental protection, social, legal assistance and other public benefit activities. In Lithuania, emigration and negative natural population changes are leading to a decline in the total population of the country (mostly the population lost the working-age population after emigrating). This leads to an ageing population, which is having a negative impact on social protection, health and education systems, as the labour force is ageing, as the financial inflows to these systems decrease and the need for expenditure increases. Taking into account this problem, a project is initiated, which will be implemented in 5 municipalities of Vilnius county, where the number of older persons is about 35 % of the total population of the municipality (the number of older people in Trakai Municipality is about 35.85 %, Elektrėnai municipality — 36.94 %, Šalčininkai district municipality — 34.06, Vilniaus r. sav. — 32 %, Vilnius municipality 33.35 %). In order to address the employment and low self-esteem problems of this target group, the project envisages providing the target group with a comprehensive set of services that increase participation in the labour market and voluntary activities of the target group. The service complex will include training on the essence of volunteering, strengthening motivation to act, learn and work, developing, maintaining and restoring professional skills, developing general skills (language, social competences, cultural awareness and expression, etc.), psychological support, involvement in volunteering, counselling and information, support for volunteering. During the implementation of the project, the organisation of educational activities and dissemination of information aimed at promoting the motivation and initiative of older people of working age, motivation and action will also be organised. VšĮ Trakų švietimo centras (toliau – centras) įsteigtas 2013 m. liepos 12 dieną. Centro veiklos tikslas– tenkinti viešuosius interesus vykdant švietimo, mokymo ir kultūrinę, sveikos gyvensenos įgūdžių stiprinimo, aplinkos apsaugos, socialinės, teisinės pagalbos teikimo ir kitokią visuomenei naudingą veiklą. Lietuvoje dėl emigracijos ir neigiamos natūralios gyventojų kaitos mažėja bendras šalies gyventojų skaičius (daugiausia visuomenė prarado emigravusius darbingo amžiaus asmenis). Tai lemia visuomenės senėjimą, kuri savo ruoštu daro neigiamą poveikį socialinės apsaugos, sveikatos ir švietimo sistemoms, nes senėjant darbo jėgai finansinės įplaukos į šias sistemas mažėja, o išlaidų poreikis didėja. Atsižvelgus į šią problematiką yra inicijuojamas projektas, kuris bus įgyvendinamas 5 Vilniaus apskrities savivaldybėse, kuriose vyresnio amžiaus asmenų skaičius yra apie 35 proc. nuo visų savivaldybės gyventojų (Trakų sav. vyresnio amžiaus asmenų yra apie 35,85 proc., Elektrėnų sav. – 36,94 proc., Šalčininkų r. sav. – 34,06, Vilniaus r. sav. – 32 proc., Vilniaus sav. 33,35 proc.). Siekiant spręsti aukščiau nurodytas šios tikslinės grupės užimtumo ir žemos savivertės problemas, projekto metu numatoma tikslinei grupei suteikti kompleksą visų paslaugų, didinančių tikslinės grupės asmenų dalyvavimą darbo rinkoje ir savanoriškoje veikloje. Paslaugų kompleksas apims mokymus apie savanorystės esmę, motyvacijos veikti, mokytis ir dirbti stiprinimą, profesinių įgūdžių ugdymą, palaikymą ir atkūrimą, bendrųjų įgūdžių (kalbos, socialinių gebėjimų, kultūrinio sąmoningumo ir raiškos ir t.t.) ugdymą, psichologinę pagalbą, įtraukimą į savanorišką veiklą, konsultavimą ir informavimą, paramą vykdant savanorišką veiklą. Projekto įgyvendinimo metu taip pat vyks švietėjiškų veiklų ir informacijos sklaidos, skirtos vyresnio darbingo amžiaus asmenų motyvacijai ir iniciatyvumui skatinti, motyvuoti, veikti organizavimas.
