The Cultuurgebouw is the cultural company in Haarlemmermeer for theatre, concerts, education, information, exhibitions, debates and events. The Cultural Building and its dependencies are places for experience, meeting, connection, development and inspiration. Core values are hospitality, professionalism and entrepreneurship. Healthy, competent and motivated employees are of great importance for the success of Het Cultuurgebouw. The Cultuurgebouw is a fusion organisation that is still inventing itself. In addition to the mergers, recent developments such as the raising of the AOW pension age, which require people to continue working longer and therefore have to be longer deployable, pose the necessary challenges. The Employees of Het Cultuurgebouw have a relatively high average age and a long period of service. Austerity and digitalisation have resulted in a lot of workload on employees. In this context, the sustainable employability and vitality of the staff is essential for the management of Het Cultuurgebouw to continue to perform well and with pleasure. The project for which the ESF grant is being applied for is the development and implementation of tailor-made workshops vital leadership for all managers, tailor-made stress prevention workshops for all employees, individual coaching on the theme of sustainable employability for all employees who need it, the development of ‘vitality conversations’ to replace the current performance/assessment interviews and stimulate the internal mobility of staff by setting up strategic staff planning in the context of vitality. This will increase staff’s awareness of mental and physical fitness, health, vitality and sustainable employability, which, combined with behavioural change, is expected to reduce workplace stress and reduce absenteeism.
