Support for independent living and overcoming the social exclusion of people with disabilities and lonely elderly people on the territory of Petrich Municipality. Provision of complex care through the Center for hourly services.
Property / summary

In the context of the economic and social crisis, exacerbated by negative demographic changes, the provision of accessible, high-quality and sustainable long-term care services for older people and persons with disabilities is one of the effective tools for improving the quality of their lives and for their full inclusion in society. The problems with ageing the population, as well as the social exclusion of people with disabilities, is also a serious challenge for the municipality of Petrich. On the one hand, this problem calls for an increase in the need for long-term care services and, on the other hand, to increase the public expenditure on these services and, on the other hand, to ensure a higher quality of the services offered by existing specialised institutions. This is also the main motive for Petrich Municipality to look for new forms of care for the elderly and people with disabilities through the scheme of OP “Human Resources Development” — “NOWVISIM LIFE”. The main activities of the project foresee the introduction and provision of complex services for long-term care, planned on the basis of the individual needs of the person. With the implementation of the project will continue the activities of the service unit created under the scheme “Home help” through the creation of an hourly service center. The Centre’s activity will be supported by the creation of 58 new jobs in order to plan and manage the provision of kmplex services for long-term care in the home environment and/or in the community. Users of the services will be 112 persons aged over 65 and persons with disabilities. Training-introducing and upgrading/specialising, as well as psychological support and supervisa will be carried out for the staff. Psychological and motivational support for service users is also envisaged. The organisation and management of the project will be implemented by the Project Team. The project lasts — 20 months and the services in the Center for hourly services will be provided for a period of 18 months. (English)
