Display Daily was created in response to two market trends: on the one hand, the decreasing consumption of subscription services to print media (responsive to demand for new forms of financing quality journalism) and on the other hand the increasing consumption of information in digital form (ratio of exchange, usage and response). We created DD when the European Parliament adopted the Copyright Directive in the Digital Single Market — specific Articles 11 and 13 — which give publishers the opportunity to obtain fair and proportionate remuneration for the digital use of their press publications through information society service providers. Our goal is to take advantage of this open market opportunity and to realise a service that will be both profitable for the media and will encourage the use of authors’ journalistic materials as opposed to fake news. In general, the company will implement a “digital publishing house” and will re-issue the print media in Bulgaria (in the future and in Southeastern Europe) in order to provide digital subscription: faster and cheaper (due to digital format) access to the original materials of the “standard” press. The project provides:- the hiring of named persons — entrepreneur (woman) and qualified staff with education and experience in the field, as well as the creation of sustainable employment for press processing specialists — provision of software (DNA) and relevant data storage and processing equipment (FTA) to allow the provision of the service to end users — purchase of archive digital copies of the press (materials from the last year), with its “J58” sector and objectives, the project falls under the priority area “new technologies in creative industries” (by ESIS) with implementation in Vratsa and Montana. (Bulgarian)
