La commune d'Aurillac souhaite valoriser son fonds patrimonial et assurer sa communicabilité aux administrés de la ville et plus largement à tous publics. Elle a donc décidé d'entreprendre la numérisation, à titre préventif et de conservation, de nombre de ses documents détenus par les archives municipales et ses musées. Elle souhaite également pouvoir mettre en valeur ces documents par l'intermédiaire de la mise en place d'une bibliothèque numérique.
