A l'échelle du bassin de l'Adour, plusieurs territoires sont exposés au risque d'inondation. Au vu des enjeux et des contextes locaux (restauration de l'espace de mobilité de l'Adour sur le secteur amont et de la SLGRI sur le secteur de Dax par l'Institution Adour), l'Institution Adour souhaite porter, avec le soutien des élus locaux et en accord avec les collectivités locales, l'élaboration de deux PAPI ainsi qu'une étude relative au classement des systèmes d'endiguement et à la restauration des champs d'expansion des crues.Ces projets répondent au principe de développement durable (réduction des coûts humains et matériel liés aux inondations) en conciliant le maintien des usages et la préservation de l'environnement.
