Das Jobcenter AM-AS setzt sich den Abbau von Langzeitarbeitslosigkeit zum Ziel. Es sollen Perspektiven für langzeitarbeitslose erwerbsfähige Leistungsberechtigte nach dem Zweiten Buch Sozialgesetzbuch (SGB II) zur nachhaltigen beruflichen Eingliederung in den ersten Arbeitsmarkt geschaffen werden. Arbeitgeber sollen für langzeitarbeitslose Frauen und Männer gefunden werden, die diese Kunden in ein dauerhaftes Beschäftigungsverhältnis übernehmen. Qualifizierungsdefizite sollen ausgeglichen werden. Nach erfolgreicher Beschäftigungsaufnahme werden die teilnehmenden Frauen und Männer intensiv gecoacht um die Arbeitsverhältnisse nachhaltig zu stabilisieren. Die Mobilität im ländlichen Flächenkreis Amberg/Amberg-Sulzbach soll möglichst umfassend gefördert werden, um die Teilnehmer zu motivieren, einen Arbeitsplatz zu erreichen und regelmäßig diesen aufzusuchen.
