Der Prozess der regionalen Zusammenarbeit in der KielRegion soll durch die Nutzung eines Regionalbudgets weiter gestärkt werden. Das Regionalbudget bietet die Chance, ausgewählte, im Regionalen Entwicklungskonzept (REK) entwickelte Entwicklungsziele und Projektansätze zügiger umzusetzen und gezielt weiterzuentwickeln. Insbesondere sollen die mithilfe des Regionalbudgets umgesetzten Maßnahmen einen Beitrag dazu leisten, regionale Wachstumspotentiale zu mobilisieren, Maßnahmen des Regionalmarketings zu verstärken sowie die Fachkräfteversorgung zu verbessern.
