Der Paul Albrechts Verlag wurde 1925 gegründet und beschäftigt in Gruppe mit seinen Schwesterunternehmen ca. 238 Mitarbeiter bei einem jährlichen Umsatz von ca. 38 Mio. EUR. Die Paul Albrechts Verlag GmbH blickt auf eine lange Tradition im Bereich des Gesundheitswesens zurück. Seither entwickelte sich PAV von einem Formularverlag zu einem Komplettanbieter im Bereich des formulargestützten Datenmanagements und dem Verarbeiten von Datenströmen. In den zurückliegenden Jahren hat sich PAV immer wieder durch besondere Innovationen hervorgetan und sich so in seinem Bereich zu einem international anerkannten und auch technologisch beachteten Unternehmen entwickelt. Durch die stetige Entwicklung und Innovation hat PAV mit der Produktion von Transponderinlays und der Verarbeitung kontaktbehafteter Mikroprozessoren, wie sie in ID-Karten Verwendung finden, eine Hochtechnologie in Schleswig-Holstein konzentriert. Da die zu verarbeitenden Elektronikkomponenten sehr empfindlich sind, findet die Fertigung am Standort Lütjensee seit 1999 in Reinräumen statt. Dadurch konnte PAV schon frühzeitig auf die Corona-Pandemie reagieren und eine Fertigung für medizinische Gesichtsmasken in geeigneten Räumlichkeiten aufbauen.
