Alle Werkzeuge, welche einen Prozess im Haus durchlaufen (Werkzeugservice oder Werkzeugherstellung) werden mithilfe eines Lasers mit einem Data Matrix Code gekennzeichnet. Dieser Code enthält für jedes Werkzeug eine einzigartige Nummer. Hinter der Nummer werden in einer Datenbank alle für das Werkzeug relevanten Daten hinterlegt. So sind bei jedem Arbeitsschritt ohne Laufkarte alle notwendigen Daten für jedes einzelne Werkzeug verfügbar. Des Weiteren kann auf diese Weise für jedes Werkzeug der komplette Lebenszyklus zurückverfolgt und so der Einsatz der Werkzeuge beim Kunden optimiert werden. (German)
