Mannheim und die Metropolregion verfügen über starke Medizintechnologie-Akteure in Industrie, Klinik und Forschung. Mit dem Business Development Center (BDC) wird es Neugründungen, KMU sowie Partnern in Verbundforschungsvorhaben ermöglicht, Medizinprodukte effizienter zu entwickeln und nachhaltiger zu vermarkten. Das flexible Raumprogramm mit Büros, Hybridräumen (iCubes) und Laboren bildet sowohl die hohe Interdisziplinarität als auch die wechselnden Anforderungen wachsender MedTech-Unternehmen ab. Das BDC liegt zusammen mit zahlreichen anderen MedTech-Unternehmen auf dem Mannheim Medical Technology Campus. Von dort aus kann das Clustermanagement Medizintechnologie, das Universitätsklinikum, das Institut für Medizintechnologie, die Fraunhofer Projektgruppe für Automatisierung in der Medizin und Biotechnologie, das Gründungs- und Kompetenzzentrum Medizintechnologie mit experimentellem HybridOP sowie der BMBF Krebs-Forschungscampus M²OLIE in weniger als 5 Minuten zu Fuß erreicht werden. The flexible room program with offices, hybrid rooms (iCubes) and laboratories reflects both the high interdisciplinarity and the changing requirements of growing MedTech companies. The BDC, together with numerous other MedTech companies, is located on the Mannheim Medical Technology Campus. From there, the Cluster Management Medical Technology, the University Hospital, the Institute of Medical Technology, the Fraunhofer Project Group for Automation in Medicine and Biotechnology, the Founding and Competence Center Medical Technology with Experimental HybridOP and the BMBF Cancer Research Campus M²OLIE can be reached on foot in less than 5 minutes.
