One of the short-term environmental measures is to boost the use of electric vehicles in cities and thus no longer accumulate pollution in urban centres. The widespread use of electric vehicles in cities will have a direct impact on the air quality that is breathed and in turn on the health of the population._x000D_ The current technical characteristics of Electric Vehicles (VE,s) and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) make them particularly suitable for urban situations where speeds are relatively small. However, background noise in urban environments could mask the characteristic noise of this type of vehicle (which is minimal) and pose a danger to passersby, especially the most defenceless. _x000D_ for this reason, the so-called vehicle acoustic warning systems (AVAS — Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems or WS — Warning Sounds), which are to be inserted or will be related to electric vehicles, seem indispensable. The warning sound is one of the technical aspects that remain to be defined to ensure the complete insertion of the electric vehicle in urban environments._x000D_ The project’s approach would be that instead of the origin of the warning sound being incorporated as a device to the electric vehicle, that sound would cause the vehicle to be used as a warning when travelling on the roadside, or to prevent the noise from being used as an electrical device. _x000D_ the overall objective of the project is to design asphalt signatures designed for low speeds (< 50 Km/h) that ensures a noise level that can be considered a warning sound to the passage of electric vehicles, and also meets sustainability and low cost conditions.
