Reaching this thickness range with levels of incidences in the production process and performance levels equivalent to that of the highest-produced steels, such as austenitic stainless steels, will improve the efficiency of the use of the material and energy resources necessary for the complex production of ACERINOX duplex stainless steels, which will thus be favored in terms of costs and environmental influence. Currently, the production of duplex steels in ACERINOX is penalised, compared to that of austenitics, for a lower performance 6 points and an electrical power requirement that can reach 50 % higher in the last rolling passes. One of the objectives of the Project is to reduce by at least half both differences_x000D_ The Project is presented in a cooperative way, and the individual components of this consortium have, among others, demonstrated capacity in the fields of production and scientific and technological advancement of materials, so the group is considered able to address and achieve the demanding objectives that arise. They shall participate in the implementation thereof; Acerinox, Project leader, partner TITANIA and responsible for the numerical simulation of tension conditions on the lateral edges of the material during hot rolling, and TEAMS as a partner being responsible for the activity of modifications of the hot deformation processes with various thickness reduction programs and ductility titrations (English) | |||||||||||||||
