Road modernisation project II/499 Nemčice – Radošina – border of the region increases road parameters with emphasis on safety and modernisation elements, mobility and improved accessibility of the north-western part of Nitra region to the superior road infrastructure TEN-T. The road provides connection to D1 led in the TEN-T corridor and connects settlement centers Topoľčany and Piešt’any. Once implemented, the project will contribute to creating the conditions for economic growth and will have an impact on the balanced territorial development of the region. The major modernisation of road II/499 will increase transport safety and fluidity in the region, strengthen the environmental aspects of transport and eliminate the risks of climate change to road infrastructure.  The project includes integrated electronic meters for instant speed, pedestrian crossings highlighted by traffic buttons (road reflector), bus stop lanes for VOD and other transport infrastructure elements that increase traffic flow and safety. The purpose of the modernisation of the road II/499 is to increase the carrying capacity and eliminate the point defects of the road, to strengthen the roadsides and slopes of the road, drainage and construction of safety elements of the transport infrastructure. The beginning of the modernised section is located in the Havran saddle (390 m above sea level) on the border of Trnava and Nitra region, on the border of the districts Topoľčany and Piešt’any in km 76.040 (76.045). The end of the section is in the village Nemčice (175 m above sea level) in km 97,925 (98,934) at the intersection of roads II/499 and II/514. The total length of the upgraded section is 21.885 km.  The cost of the project is EUR 5 498 236, and the co-financing of the project from the NSK budget amounts to EUR 274 912. (English)

Zásadná modernizácia cesty II/499 zvýši  bezpečnosť a plynulosť dopravy v danom regióne, posilňuje environmentálne aspekty dopravy a eliminuje  riziká klimatických zmien na cestnú infraštruktúru.  Súčasťou projektu sú  zakomponované elektronické merače okamžitej rýchlosti,  prechody pre chodcov zvýraznené dopravnými  gombíkmi (cestná odrazka), autobusové  zastávkové pruhy pre VOD a ďalšie prvky dopravnej infraštruktúry, ktoré zvyšujú plynulosť a bezpečnosť dopravy. Účelom modernizácie cesty II/499 je zvýšenia únosnosti a odstránenie bodových závad vozovky, spevnenie krajníc a svahov cestného telesa, odvodnenie a vybudovanie bezpečnostných prvkov dopravnej infraštruktúry. (Slovak)
