The general objective of this project is the rehabilitation and valorisation of a historic monument of national interest (Category A) from Baile Herculane Resort and its promotion, in order to contribute to the development of tourism, which will lead to an increase in the number of tourists and to the development of the economic sector in the area, with effects in creating new jobs and increasing the living standards of the population in the area. The project was designed in such a way as to be linked to the objectives of the investment priority financed by the 2014-2020 ROP, namely the specific objective “Increasing the average number of employees in tourist resorts” of Priority Axis 7, Investment Priority 7.1. EUSRD. Also, the aim of the project is to contribute to the implementation of Priority Area 3 actions of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region, namely the consolidation of the Danube region as an important European tourist destination; promoting short stays and leisure activities at weekends, as well as longer stays; improving tourism planning and infrastructure; promoting spa tourism in the region, etc. The aim of the project is to contribute to the revitalisation of Baile Herculane Resort, which will be ensured by investments made for tourism infrastructure and through promotion and marketing measures carried out as a result of obtaining non-reimbursable financial assistance. Obiectivul general al proiectului de față îl reprezintă reabilitarea și valorificarea unui pod monument istoric de interes național (Categoria A) din Stațiunea Băile Herculane și promovarea acestuia, cu scopul de a contribui la dezvoltarea turismului, ceea ce va determina o creștere a numărului de turiști și, respectiv, la dezvoltarea sectorului economic din zonă, cu efecte în crearea de noi locuri de muncă și creșterea nivelului de trai al populației din zonă. Proiectul a fost elaborat astfel încât să fie corelat cu obiectivele priorității de investiții finanțate prin POR 2014-2020, mai precis cu obiectivul specific „Creșterea numărului mediu de salariați în stațiunile turistice” al Axei prioritare 7, Prioritatea de investiții 7.1. SUERD. De asemenea, scopul proiectului este de a contribui la îndeplinirea acţiunilor Ariei Prioritare 3 a Strategiei Uniunii Europene pentru Regiunea Dunării, respectiv consolidarea regiunii Dunării ca destinaţie turistică europeană importantă; promovarea sejururilor de scurtă durată şi a activităţilor de recreere la sfârşit de săptămână, precum şi a sejururilor mai îndelungate; îmbunătăţirea planificării şi a infrastructurii pentru turism; promovarea turismului balnear din regiune etc. Scopul proiectului este de a contribui la revitalizarea Stațiunii Băile Herculane, care va fi asigurată prin investițiile efectuate pentru infrastructura de turism și prin măsurile de promovare și de marketing realizate, ca urmare a obținerii asistenței financiare nerambursabile.
