Obiectivul general al proiectului este îmbunătățirea transportului public în orașele din proiect prin reînoirea materialului rulant de pe rutele de transport public selectate. Proiectul contribuie la reducerea emisiilor de gaze cu efect de seră în două moduri: • prin înlocuirea vechilor autobuze cu propulsie diesel cu autobuze 100% electrice cu zero emisii se elimină practic emisiile de GES de pe rutele respective; • prin asigurarea de condiții superioare (vehicule moderne, cu podea joasă, mai rapide, mai puțin zgomotoase, cu facilități STI) prin noile vehicule, precum și prin îmbunătățirile complementare aduse de orașe prin alte proiecte finanțate prin POR 2014 – 2020, mai mulți locuitori din orașele respective vor utiliza transportul public, iar o parte dintre aceștia vor fi renunțat la transportul privat. The overall objective of the project is to improve public transport in the cities of the project by renewing rolling stock on selected public transport routes. The project contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in two ways: • replacing old diesel buses with 100 % zero-emission electric buses virtually eliminates GHG emissions on those routes; • by providing superior conditions (modern, low-floor, faster, less noisy, ITS-facilitated vehicles) through new vehicles, as well as the complementary improvements brought by cities through other projects funded by the 2014-2020 ROP, more inhabitants of these cities will use public transport and some of them will have abandoned private transport.
