Obiectivul general al proiectului este îmbunătățirea transportului public în Municipiul Ploiești prin achiziția de material rulant de tip tramvai pe ruta de transport public selectată, printr-o abordare integrata bazata pe Planul de Mobilitate Urbana Durabila (PMUD). Acest obiectiv implica reducerea emisiilor de carbon și creșterea atractivității transportului public in comun, prin asigurarea de condiții superioare (vehicule moderne, echipate cu motoare de tracțiune și cutii de angrenaj prevăzute cu sisteme pentru reducerea zgomotului și a vibrațiilor, cu facilități STI – sisteme tehnice inteligente), respectiv prin oferirea alternativelor de transport, descurajarea deplasărilor cu autoturismul personal și creșterea numărului de persoane care vor utiliza transportul public. The general objective of the project is to improve public transport in Ploiesti by purchasing tram rolling stock on the selected public transport route, through an integrated approach based on the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUD). This objective involves reducing carbon emissions and increasing the attractiveness of public transport by providing superior conditions (modern vehicles equipped with traction engines and gearboxes equipped with noise and vibration reduction systems, with ITS facilities – intelligent technical systems), i.e. by offering transport alternatives, discouraging travel by car and increasing the number of people who will use public transport.
