The unification process of local cultures in Europe particularly refers to cultural assets of the Carpathians, while leading to the vanishing of local cultures, traditions, and crafts. That was also caused by historic circumstances. This is the case in Poland and in Ukraine. The overall objective of the project is to preserve heritage of the Carpathians (traditions, craft, customs, music, architecture) through specific objectives: development of cross-border cooperation in the management of cultural and historical resources of the Carpathians by creating a network of organizations which undertake actions in the field, promotion of the knowledge of regional traditions, practices and action aimed at restoration of craft skills, enhancing competences of selected local communities in the cultural management of the region. By the project, it will be possible to create a CARPATHIAN CENTRE ROSETTE (composed of 4 centers: PL:Byste, UA:Kolochava, Kosiv, Urich) to promowe heritage of the Carpathians, work out a common policy with regard to the management and promotion of historic and cultural heritage on the regional and local level, enhance knowledge of local communities in this area, work out benchmark models to engage local communities in the management of cultural assets, elaborate an integrated instrument for the cross-border region, and a common campaign to promote cultural values of the region. Its products will be available for use both by Partners and target groups: regional and local authorities, culture-related institutions, NGOs, local leaders, pilotage communities (UA:Trostyanets, Kosiv, Urych, Kolochava, PL:Bystre) and tourists. The elaborated solution will comply with the Faro Convention, the Carpathian Convention, the Aarhus Sustainability model and will be based on involving local communities in the management of cultural and historic assets. It is not possible to preserve the Carpathians’ heritage only through actions implemented on one side of the border. (Polish)
