PP Stonáč je zbytkem původních slepých ramen řeky Moravy, tzv. hanáckých tůní. Sestává se z mělké doliny s pramenisky a tůněmi, do jejíž střední části přitéká vodoteč Stonáč. Mimo statut přírodní památky je lokalita součástí soustavy Natura 2000 jako EVL Stonáč CZ 0723424. Dále je lokalita součástí ÚSES a to jako nivní osa NRBK K 142N s vloženým lokálním biocentrem LBC Stonáč 300187. Nadregionální biokoridor propojuje v širších vztazích NRBC Chropyňský luh s NRBC Soutok. (Czech)

PP Stonáč is a remnant of the original blind shoulders of the Morava River, called hanák’s pools. It consists of a shallow valley with springs and pools, the central part of which flows into the Centáč watershed. In addition to the status of the natural monument, the site is part of the Natura 2000 system as EVL Stonáč CZ 0723424. The site is also a part of ÚSES, as the NRBK K 142N axis with inserted local biocenter LBC Stone 300187. The supra-regional biocoridor connects Chropyňský Luh to NRBC Soutok in broader relations.
