Efektem projektu będzie zapewnienie dostępu do Internetu dla 11 254 gospodarstw domowych oraz 106 jednostek edukacyjnych zlokalizowanych na obszarze bytomskim i gliwickim. Zadaniem projektu jest wyeliminowanie terytorialnych różnic w możliwości dostępu do szerokopasmowego Internetu o wysokich przepustowościach poprzez zapewnienie dostępu do usług Społeczeństwa Informacyjnego mieszkańcom i placówkom publicznym oraz zapewnienie dostępu do infrastruktury i usług hurtowych.
