Przedmiotem projektu jest budowa morskiego systemu łączności w niebezpieczeństwie zgodnego z wytycznymi Międzynarodowej Konwencji o Bezpieczeństwie Życia na Morzu (zwanym systemem GMDSS - Global Maritime Distress and Safety System). System GMDSS jest systemem radiokomunikacyjnym obejmującym całokształt środków technicznych i organizacyjnych (w tym proceduralnych) mających zapewnić bezpieczeństwo życia na morzu w zakresie łączności radiowej. The subject of the project is the construction of a maritime distress communication system in accordance with the guidelines of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (GMDSS – Global Maritime Distress and Safety System). The GMDSS is a radio communication system covering all technical and organisational measures (including procedural) to ensure the safety of life at sea in the field of radio communications. (English)
