Solid Oxide Fuel Cells are the most efficient energy conversion devices yet invented. Because of their thigh working temperature that can convert efficiently wide range of fuels including methane, biogas, gasified coal, associated petroleum gas etc. Solid Oxide Fuel Cells are already realistic solution for Polish Clean Coal Technology. The already existing in Poland infrastructure, knowledge, know-how and well-equipped laboratories gives a hope for essentially polish concept of the SOFC stack that will meet our local requirements for introducing SOFC in Poland. This proposal intend to be a part of this strategy. The objective of the proposed project is to design and manufacture a prototype of a new type solid oxide fuel cell stack. The novelty lies in micro- and macro-patterned electrodes and new easy-to-assemble stack organization. The design takes into account a newest development in heat transfer management and the microstructure oriented cell design. (Polish)
