Celem projektu jest zapewnienie mieszkańcom Żuław i Mierzei Wiślanej odpowiedniej ilości i jakości wody pitnej. Obecnie woda podawana do sieci nie dotrzymuje parametrów w zakresie dopuszczalnych wartości manganu i żelaza. Stacja uzdatniania wody jest skrajnie wyeksploatowana. Nadto straty wody w systemie przekraczają 30%. W związku z tym, zasadniczym zadaniem projektu jest modernizacja Stacji Uzdatniania Wody w Ząbrowie (poprawa jakości wody), oraz montaż monitoringu w 10 punktach węzłowych magistralnej sieci wodociągowej oraz w 20 studniach na ujęciu wody w Letnikach (zmniejszenie strat wody. Zadania te zaprogramowano jako etap I. Kolejne działania (etap II), planowane wstępnie na lata 2019-2023, to projekty związane z dalszą poprawą niezawodności dostawy oraz zmniejszeniem strat wody, w tym budowa nowego syfonu pod pod rzeką Nogat oraz wymiana części wodociągów azbestocementowych o największej awaryjności (ok. 10 km) oraz magistrali wodociągowej z Nowego Dworu Gdańskiego do Stegny. The aim of the project is to provide residents of Żuławy and Mieszzei Wiśniowa in sufficient quantity and quality of drinking water. Currently, the water to be fed into the grid does not keep the parameters on the limit values for manganese and iron. The water treatment station is heavily exploited. In addition, water losses in the system exceed 30 %. Therefore, the essential task of the project is to modernise the Water Treatment Station in Ząbrowo (improving water quality) and to install the monitoring in 10 nodes of the water mains network and in 20 wells on water abstraction (reduction of water losses). These tasks were programmed as a phase I. Next steps (Stage II), initially planned for the period 2019-2023, are projects related to further improving the reliability of the supply and reducing the loss of water, including the construction of a new siphon under the river Nogat and the replacement of some of the water supply from the asbestos water supply. 10 km) and the water main from Gdańsk to Stegny.
