    One of the objectives of the project is to design a decision support system (DS) that puts the patient's needs at the center by giving the caregiver the opportunity to design the care in such a way that individual variations between different care providers are minimized. By using Artificial Intelligence as decision support (AI-DS) it will also facilitate the use of the most effective care program and also to facilitate comparisons between different programs with respect to treatment results, cost and patient satisfaction. In the future, resources must be used more efficiently by developing new models and methods in the health and medical care work. One of the biggest challenges in the near future is to provide citizens with equal and fair care based on the patient's needs. In the future highly specialized care where resources are to some extent limited and each hospital or county cannot provide all specialties themselves, this will mean that care needs to be conducted both across regions borders as well as across country borders. Such a system can, with the support of Artificial Intelligence, propose work diagnosis, observations and controls, and remind of measures that need to be done. Through the Norwegian partner, knowledge is gained in machine learning and development of systems, while the Swedish partner adds knowledge in emergency care, medical assessment, ethics, cost-benefit analysis and triage. In order to be able to develop an AI decision support, access to large amounts of medical patient data is needed and, through collaboration with hospitals and registry holders on both sides of the border, conditions that would otherwise have been difficult if not impossible to achieve. In the development of AI-Decision support, a large number of medical technology companies on both sides of the border have been involved with expertise in software development, product development, triaging and development of test beds. Initially, the project AI-Decision support will concentrate on three main areas; assessment of Trauma, Triagination with large number of injured and Heart failure. This means offering the right care (from a medical perspective) and at the same time reducing the burden on the healthcare staff and using the resources (doctors and nurses) in an effective way. An important part of this is that all doctors at all health centers have access to web-based decision support (AI). Through the development of new technology older elderly people can stay in their own home and at the same time have access to their doctor, nurse and specialists. It also makes it possible to avoid long journeys and with long waiting for the emergency department. The rehabilitation in the home is facilitated and supported by various computer-based programs that are designed together with the patients. A combination of unique data from Norway and extensive research in the field from Sweden can make the results from this project an important factor in fighting future epidemics, as well as enhancement in general healthcare.
