    RMQ and NCIS extend their cooperation from the project BIOVIRTINC proposing the project “NATBIOT-Natural Heritage-Natural/Bio resources’ Services ” responding to cross border area Dolj, Olt, Mehedinti (RO)-Vidin, Montana, Vratsa and Pleven (BG) challenges consisting of 1) insufficient knowledge/promotion of natural and cultural heritage, natural resources in the area and of connected facilities accommodation, eating, transport, entertainment services in terms of number, quality level, specificity. While the touristic potential of the targeted area is undisputed, the actual results, namely number of tourists, overnight stays and overall tourism turnover are still a challenge as urban tourism is still the main form registered; 2) Insufficient development and promotion of natural/bio products and services that can attract segments of tourists searching for holidays/week end exploring natural and cultural heritages benefiting from natural/bio services (food, accommodation) taking into consideration the area potential and availability in terms resources and natural heritages. 3) Seasonality of tourism, in general, mostly on summer time (except the ski resorts) although spring and autumn bring the most beautiful colours and natural resources that can add more personality and attractiveness from touristic point of view; To this common challenges project’s activities propose to respond establishing as objective to create common innovative touristic products on the brand NATBIOT and to improve the quality and marketing of services in tourism that lead to the sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage and resources on the targeted cross border area. Using an indicative budget of 498000 EU, the following main project’s activities are proposed to produce a change to the current situation of the cross border area as touristic destination, having as target groups tourism operators, service providers (accommodation, food providers units/ restaurants), tourists as final beneficiary: 1)Joint study regarding the most representative natural and cultural heritages on the targeted area and inventory of services (accommodation, eating, transport, entertainment, etc) that sustain tourism - actual standards, certification, bio certificates, eco-services, SWOT analysis, actions to be done -proposals; 2) Raising awareness regarding the advantage of services using specific natural resources and bio products: thematic seminars, meetings between producers/dealers of natural/bio products and users from tourism services, promotional materials, TV spots, etc. on both sides of the border in order to sustain and promote development of innovative niche tourism packages NATBIOT; 3) Counselling and general preparation for quality certification for 8 units-the action refers to developing general procedures that can be easily transferred to accommodation units and/or restaurants, on the issue of using natural resources/bio products; availability of free counselling will be made public using the data base, SWOT analyse and the beneficiary request; 4) Identifying and developing 4 joint tourism packages under the NATBIOT concept, based on the study recommendations, consultation between tourism operators, service providers, cross border bio producers/distributers, local authorities representatives, partners; each package will contain a mix of natural heritage, intangible and tangible cultural heritage and natural/bio services without nominating any economic agent but using the public data base elaborated within the project as possible option, traditional specific habits in terms of food, music, ethnographic events; Each touristic package on the NATBIOT brand will contain all logistic data for implementation, including presentation film, promotional materials and a smartphone application (web applicable); 5) Elaboration of Joint Strategy of increasing services quality and diversification, services using specific natural resources and bio products as a new innovative trends correlated with tourism packages proposed within the project; 6) Elaboration of Joint marketing strategy for NATBIOT tourism product’s development and promotion; 7) organizing a final promotional event – the NATBIOT Conference where will be presented all project’s results, touristic packages, films, gathering tourism operators, service providers (accommodation, restaurants units), natural/bio producers and dealers, cultural and natural heritages representatives, local authorities from the cross border area; 8) Project information and publicity.
