    Forecasts predict that in 2020 there will be up to 7 billions of wireless / mobile devices accessing the same transmission channel, the air interface. In addition, the demands of users on the data transfer rate are constantly increasing. The higher utilization increases the interference (i.e., mutual interference between the devices), which causes transmission errors and also connection drops. Although wireless standards ensure interoperability between different manufacturers for the same system (e.g. Bluetooth), they can not guarantee coexistence with other, unknown, wireless systems at the same or adjacent frequencies. This is particularly critical for the royalty-free usable frequency ranges, since they are used by an increasing number of heterogeneous radio systems. The project aims to capture, model and, for the first time, provide tools for planning and testing new radio systems, taking into account typical interferences. This know-how is to be brought together in a supra-regional project and made available to the regional companies for the purpose of strengthening their profitability. The findings will be tested between the project partners using UHF RFID identification and localization systems as examples, since a large number of different interference problems can be tested on commercial hardware as well as on modifiable developments. In pilot studies with Frequentis (AT) and Sewio or Evotech (CZ), the developed tools and procedures should be extended to other radio standards and interference situations in order to reach a wider public. The partner regions have a strong industrial base in the field of radio communication with established companies in the field of microelectronics, embedded systems and information technology. The business models of many companies in the partner regions are based on reliable radio transmission. The scientific cooperation and the involvement of regional companies will transfer know-how from the universities to the company partners. At the end of the project, the results and new tools will be presented to a wider circle of companies. Since specific adaptations are desirable for the optimal use of the developed tools, the supra-regional contact between business and academic partners is promoted. Combined with the already existing excellent regional networking of the universities, the basis for further supra-regional company projects and research projects should be created. (English)
