Horgoš, Röszke, and Szeged are places strongly directed towards one another due to the living and working conditions. These local self-governments and their residents and economy, but also the environment, together face the consequences of the lack of uninterrupted cycle lanes. The project envisages the construction of a section of the bicycle path, as well as the development of documentation, which will enable the bicycle path to be completed on the Horgoš- Röszke-Szeged route, and it will continue further to other places in the future. In the whole project, perhaps the most important part is the Horgoš II - Röszke II border crossing which will bring many benefits once it gets connected via a cycle lane. The accompanying infrastructure in the form of bicycle rest areas and bicycle service stations will only increase the importance and effect of the path, especially regarding tourism. In this particular case by connecting these settlements with the most popular tourist destination in the area: Mórahalom. Considering the importance of the project and its results and effect, promotional activities are also planned. These will make the public informed about the project and also about the importance of cycling, bicycle paths, safety and the accompanying infrastructure. Main project activities: - Construction of 1830,39 m bicycle path in the settlement Horgoš. - Preparation of the complete licensing plan accompanied by sectoral plans for the bicycle path between Röszke II border crossing and the Röszke Szent Antal square, as well as preparation of the execution plan necessary for the implementation. - Building of bicycle rest area on the route Röszke - Morahalom. The rest area includes an indoor rainfall, with tables, benches, and information board, a drinking fountain, a playground. Part of this rest area will be a mobile bicycle service station. - Setting up of mobile bicycle service stations which contain fixed equipment (wrench, pump, etc.) for maintenance and repair of bicycles, so anyone can have their bicycles fixed. One will be placed within the bicycle rest area and the other directly at the border crossing. - Design and construction of 2 bicycle stations along the Szeged section of the EUROVELO 11 cycle path. - Organization of project opening and closing events, promotional cycling events, press conferences and a promotional children's competitions.
