PROMOBIOMASSE aims at promoting the energy market of the forest biomass in the Sudoe’s area, developing a management model for the offer and the demand which applies the short circuit concept and provides solutions to current problems: unstructuring offer, small-scale farming of the forest propriety, low efficiency of exploitation methods, lack of awareness and insufficient demand. The main contributions will be: - Integrated model to manage the forest biomass at local level which implies the whole value chain, from the forest owner to the finale consumer. - Capacity-building trainings to the people responsible for the management of the Sudoe’s biomass market. - Development of action plans to implement new sustainable management systems of the biomass offer and demand in the short circuit of 6 territories: Navarra, Cataluña, Extremadura, Occitanie-Sud, Pyrénées Atlantiques and Norte Portugal. - New technologies and more efficient monitoring and exploitation systems. - Trainings and improvement of the professional conditions of new profiles; - Contracts models more flexible which guarantee a constant supply. - Integration process of the offer and joint commercialization. - Complete circuit of energy supply at local level. - Participative transformation and logistic systems. - Promotion programmes for the public and private demand. The project will involve all the agents of the biomass market value chain in short circuit as well as experts in three sectors: exploitation, commercialization and promotion of the demand. An adaptable integrated model to the Sudoe’s area will be developed. The added value of this project is to integrate in a model all the aspects of the value chain and make the most of a Sudoe’s local resources such as the forest mass to provide a response to the local energy demand in an economic and environmental sustainable way.
