The main goal of the project is the promotion of natural and cultural heritage, through the development and creation of a comprehensive educational tourism product that on the one hand will strengthen the profile of the two countries, but at the same time will aim at achieving specific educational results. The project is fully part of the strategy of the Program since the product that will be developed will be based on the utilization of the comparative advantages of Greece and Cyprus, strengthening the competitiveness in both the tourism and education sectors. Individual objectives of the project: - the creation of an educational tourism product that will highlight the natural and cultural heritage and will extend the tourist season to the eligible areas. - the creation of an educational program for educators, teachers and tourism professionals to ensure the sustainability and repeatability of the project results. - the creation of a platform that will aim to create an online community for the promotion of educational tourism. - the organization and implementation of targeted publicity actions, which will aim to inform the target groups, the final beneficiaries, but also the bodies involved in the project, in order to create the appropriate conditions for the sustainability of the results. The implementation of the EduTourism project will have the following outputs: 1. Analysis of the current situation and selection of destinations to be included in the program. 2. Development of the tourist educational tourism program. 3. Development of an application to support the program and enrich the experience of the final beneficiary. 4. Training of trainers for the implementation of the program. 5. Guide for the implementation of the educational tourism program. 6. Development and updating of an electronic project platform. 7. Plan for the publicity and sustainability of the results of the Project. The two countries are characterized by many common elements, which are related to history, culture, but also the natural environment due to the temperate climate. At the same time, they are two countries that support an extremely significant percentage of their GDP in tourism. In both cases, tourism is the industry that has the potential to evolve as much as possible compared to others. The EduTourism project aims to develop a comprehensive educational tourism product for young people aged 16-25 that will connect historically, culturally and environmentally the eligible areas (Crete, Dodecanese and Cyprus). The project is fully in line with the objectives of the Interreg program, and proposes a service that is innovative and effectively links tourism with the educational process. (English)
