CEU is rich in a variety of cultural tangible & intangible phenomena, many of which are inscribed in national or UNESCO heritage lists but lack of sustainable preservation & management. CULTRECOVERY deals with immaterial cultural heritage as result of interrelation between populations & territories, precious source of traditions, artefacts, typical products. Despite its recognized importance such heritage is often underestimated risking to be lost. Eco-museums represent a great potential, focusing on the identity of a place, largely based on local participation, stimulating the dialogue on issues related to management of conflicting usage interests, preservation & enhancement for economic, social, cultural activities. Project aims at improving Ecomuseums’ managers’ & operators’ capacities, promoting proper strategies & action plans for the preservation & valorization of immaterial cultural heritage and new solutions for a wider qualitative & quantitative offer of the territories. Exp. changes: - Improvement of management models of ecomuseums and of operators’ capacities, from “traditional/standard” models into innovative performing ones, with a tighter public-private cooperation - Increase of qualitative & quantitative offer allowing a wide and quality enjoyment of the immaterial cultural heritage through innovative solutions to “tell about identities” & “get through” the targets. A holistic & bottom-up approach to culture, tackling issues in an integrated & interdisciplinary way, focusing on the involvement of communities. This approach needs a mix of complex competences & human resources, difficult to put together for a single territory. Transn. coop. is therefore needed. Innovation lies in community based care for heritage, promoting tourism by reactivating forgotten potentials. Communities will receive new tools & skills to create their job opportunities & reinterpret heritage with a long term develop. vision (English)
