The aim of the project is the in-depth study of metal systems based on shape memory alloys (SMA) in relation to their intrinsic damping properties. Useful in supports for the control and attenuation of vibrations for a wide range of instruments and devices for advanced manufacturing, SMAs, today, can be used in passive and active damping systems and the study of high-performance materials ( Advanced materials). The object of the cooperation is to establish an Italo-Swiss collaboration network for applications that, starting from the aerospace and biomedical sectors, can involve the greatest number of sectors and companies.
