In the project region, research institutes and companies are involved in image acquisition and processing and apply this knowledge in practice. The expertise of the organizations associated in the region is unique in many ways. This is highlighted by scientific publications, as well as by specific tools that achieve the best parameters and contain new technical solutions and their combinations. In the South Bohemian Region, at the University of South Bohemia, the Institute for Complex Systems of the FFPW USB deals with the analysis of primary signals from digital cameras for microscopy and macroscopic imaging techniques. In the Vysočina region, the Telč Center is engaged in the development of X-ray microtomographs. In Upper Austria the laboratories of the Universities of Applied Sciences Linz and Wels deal with all methods of high-resolution optical microscopy and nanolithography as well as the practical applications of microtomography. Partners of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and Danube University Krems also have extensive experience with the requirements of technology companies. These partners have joined a consortium that represents a new quality in research and creates the ability to put knowledge into practice. Normal users, even corporate users, rarely receive information about how the image recording and storage method used maintains or fundamentally changes the basic image structure. In order to get a perfect picture, the perception of the human eye has to be betrayed. This is only possible if the original sensor signal from the camera is distorted. This significantly reduces the competitiveness of image data users as they cannot create breakthrough algorithmic solutions for downstream technologies such as automatic detection, measurement and similar applications. These are the inputs for artificial intelligence and thus form the basis for the development of robotic devices in the entire spectrum from production to system and building control, medical applications to automated assistants, in short the entire Industry 4.0. Small and medium-sized technology firms in the region, although generally of high quality, cannot provide the capacity for their own research and therefore cannot participate in global competitions. The aim of the project is to create a consortium from which the companies in the region draw the knowledge of regional research organizations and thus achieve competitiveness in order to be able to lead in certain areas in global competition.
