The proposed project addresses problems of accessibility, efficiency, ecology and safety of secondary/tertiary nodes connection to TEN-T infrastructure in the cross-border region. The main objective of the proposed action is to significantly improve the planning, development and coordination of cross-border transport systems for better connections with TEN-T network in the CBC area. This is done through investment in the study, planning and adoption of strategic documents on optimizing of the transport system through enhanced intermodal transport connections in the cross-border region. Total project budget: 1,469,150.61 Euro. The main activities within the Project are elaboration of a common preliminary study on intermodal nodes’ current state and their capability to enhance the TEN-T network in the CBC area, and a common strategy on TEN-T network enhancement through improving intermodal nodes’ capacity. The study and strategy are developed with organization of 8 round tables. Thus, the project creates a joint mechanism to facilitate the connection of secondary/tertiary nodes to TEN-T infrastructure in the CBC area The Project will attain the following results: 1 preliminary study on intermodal nodes’ current state and their capability to enhance the TEN-T network within the CBC area, 1 common strategy on TEN-T network enhancement through improving intermodal nodes’ capacity, and 8 round tables.
