The overall project objective is to increase the use of the natural and cultural resources for tourism purposes in Ełk and Kaunas cities. The main project’ activities involve adjustment of the Ełk lake shore for active and passive recreation and development of the Kaunas castle area for cultural purposes, where an amphitheater will be build. The planned investments allow to explore these attractive places in a controlled manner following strict requirements for the nature and culture heritage. Beneficiaries will implement joint informational campaign with the aim to increase awareness on the tourist attractiveness of both regions as potential sites for recreation and leisure. These materials will highlight the natural and cultural heritage of the participating cities. The target group of the project – residents of both cities and regions, tourists visiting border area as well as operators in tourism industry. (English)
