The project's aim is to improve physical and emotional health of children in LT-PL cross-border in the time of COVID-19. The project has been specifically designed for the children with disabilities and children growing up in socially excluded families facing with soial deprivation like unemployment of both parents, parents alcoholism, low-income, single parenting, large families. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the project partners face similar problems of social exclusion and poverty, deterioration of psychological and physical well-being of children. Because the pandemic poses major threat to children with health problems, it is important to improve physical and emotional health of children and to adapt the environment of educational institutions in Alytus and Suwalki to new challenges. The activities like sports and health activities, workshops, PL-LT Open Game Day in Alytus or Suwalki half-marathon will help diminish children’s health problems and reduce social exclusion. Teachers/educators will try to minimise the negative impact of the pandemic on children, to motivate and to protect children integrating them with other children through different activities promoting a healthy life-style. Moreover, to respond to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and to provide social care and interaction in distance between children in Alytus and Suwalki, remote classes have been foreseen in kindergartens. The project budget: EUR 593,058. 23. (English)
