FairDeal addresses the need for a more inclusive and efficient labour market in the CB area by enabling new economic opportunities and improved employment perspectives. The CB area has a reputation for its community of artisans and craftspeople famous for their talent and hard work. This creative potential is insufficiently exploited as a driver of employment, entrepreneurship, economic growth and social inclusion. The project brings together CB communities in a joint development of an innovative solution for online marketing of local artisan products. Based on e-commerce potential for shortening the supply chain path, it ensures a fairer deal for both suppliers and end-customers. The FairDeal e-commerce platform is conceived as a cybermediary application, providing for virtual storefronts, where interested SMEs, tradespersons and craftspeople of the CB area will freely host and market artisan products and services. Integrating tradition with innovation, it will alter conventional patterns of trade, increase commercial efficiency, create new employment opportunities and improve community welfare. To overcome innate resistance to innovation promoters will provide trainings to craftspeople. Community support network will be formed to ensure the platform’s sustainable operation. Utilizing a budget of EUR 714 580 the project will contribute to the Programme’s objectives by fostering innovation as a driver of entrepreneurship, qualitative and sustainable employment in the region.
