Tourism is one of the strong assets of the CBC region in terms of employment and turnover in services but suffer hard seasonal appearance and fragile market unequally split between the Black Sea cost and the unexploited rest of the territory. To tackle this problem IMPACT project aims to promote the CBC area as an attractive tourist destination on the basis of sustainable use of natural and cultural resources through innovative and interactive IT solutions for provision of tourist services. Main activities and results that are envisaged to achieve these objective are: Create wide spatial data base of cultural, natural and historical sites on the territory of entire CBC area; Develop an innovative and interactive online GIS based platform for provision of information and tourist services; Unite minimum 5 complex tourist routes for the entire CBC area – culture & history, nature & sport, religion, rural tourism and wine & gourmet. Once having recognized the CBC area as an attractive area of new destinations, the tourists will increase their number of visits as well as the duration of their stay and the area will become main tourist location but not supplementary like up t now. As a result, it is expected in 5 years after the project completion the number of overnights on the CBC area to increase with 100 000 and the number of visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage and attraction - with 2 500. The total budget of the project is estimated to 1 492 329,36 EUR. (English)
