The most important challenge of our projects area is, that we are talking about rural settlements with poor facilitates and public services comparing to urban localities. It is a demonstrated fact, that these localities are less safe against disasters. Dumbrava is a marginal settlements of Timis County, far from the developed Municipality Timisoara. Ada is also a smaler locality, surrounded by rural localities. The statistics shows us, that the professional firefighters calculate 1km/1minute for interventions. In crucial moments every minute counts, so if we have well trained and properly equipped volunteers, it can save lives. Basically the project has two pillars: 1. Awreness raising campaigns organized for a wider number of inhabitants, divided in different age categories involving 720 members. 2. Theoretically training and joint practical training for 30-30 volunteers from Ada and Dumbrava. 300 pupils from 6 different localities, will participate on awareness raising events. With this occasions they will get familiarized with risk prevention; proper behavior in different type of risk: fire, flood, earthquake; will learn to apply first aid techniques and will learn about climate change and to protect and carefully usage of natural resources. At least 240 local inhabitants will benefit on Public Safety Days, in front of a wider public in 4 different localities. With this occasion participants will met and get familiarized with the professional uniform units: fire fighters, police, and ambulance. Will be presented demonstrations, will spread out information regarding prevention attitude. Another target group (180 adult) of the campaign is represented mostly by mothers (parents) or grandparents who are raising infants or little kids at home. The adults will get familiarized with the most common dangers, disasters which can happen at home, the prevention against these risks and also will acquire skills regarding first aid techniques applicable on infants and little children. In each of the involved 6 localities such event will take place. LP will organize 12, PP 6 training events designated for the 30 volunteers from Dumbrava and Ada. PP will also organize 3 joint practical exercises, with these occasions all the 60 involved volunteers will get the chance to learn from each other, to get familiarized with co-work in different emergency situations. Both partners will purchase 1-1 fire engines, 10-10 water pumps, equipment for 12-12 volunteer. The involved public authorities, having trained volunteers and proper equipment, can much better safeguard the population of this geographical area. Partners will even elaborate a joint cross-border protocol regarding risk management, environmental disaster protocol, this protocol will also contain element regarding protection and wisely usage of natural resources in order to combat climate change.
