EasyGuide is designed to promote the cross-border region of Calarasi and Silitra as a tourist destination by developing an integrated virtual tourist guide environment (IVTGE). It addresses the challenge of inadequate knowledge on the common heritage, which hampers cross-border cooperation and social inclusion and result in unstable tourist flow in the region. By promoting and utilizing the cultural and natural heritage potential, EasyGuide aims at a joint development of the area through sustainable use of its human, natural and cultural resources. This project offers a unique opportunity to create a world-class tourist service, benefitting from the local resources and the latest IT trends, thus promoting tourism and economic development in both areas. The project will start with a research on the historical and cultural heritage in the region to identify sites and events of interest which will be included in the integrated environment. Based on the collected data the content for the virtual applications will be prepared. Simultaneously, the technical solution of EasyGuide will be developed. It will represent an integrated environment of a web portal, a mobile application and digital info displays at selected locations. An extensive public awareness campaign will be commenced to attract the attention and support of stakeholders, the younger generation and potential tourists. Based on this, a common management plan on how to use our natural and cultural resources in a sustainable and profitable way will be developed and present it stakeholders. For a budget of EUR 990,320 will consider the project successful if the IVTGE is successfully launched and attracts a large number of visitors. This will contribute to the Programme’s output and result indicators by: • increasing the number of visits to supported sites; • introducing a new high-tech integrated tourist service which would trigger the creation of other cross-border tourist services; • increasing the number of tourist overnights. • The management plan to be developed is widely implemented. The project will directly contribute to the Programme’s specific result and output indicators by ensuring the sustainable use of the heritage and increase the number of visits to supported sites and tourist overnights in the region.the result you’re going for (and how is that related to the Programme indicators).
