The area between the Gotthard and the Simplon is affected by some important changes linked to the arrival of the "AlpTransit" and the entry into operation of the "Lötschberg". These large crossings allow the Alps to be quickly overcome. That profoundly modifies the perception of the Alpine context, its attractiveness and the catchment area. To face this challenge, the organization of a shared response across borders is fundamental, and it's necessary to start from the common promotion of the landscape and natural heritage. In the Alps today there are trains (the green train of the Alps and the Red Train of Bernina) with a connection function, a strong impact on the tourist network that put together different transport systems (cable cars, boats, etc. ..) and which have a clear positioning and a series of high quality offers. The Vigezzina-Centovallina, which also connects with these trains, can become the blue train of the Alps. (English)
