REAL TIME PCR ANALYTICAL METHOD IS NOW WIDELY USED IN MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS FOR THE IDENTIFICATION AND QUANTIFICATION OF NUCLEIC ACID SEQUENCES (DNA OR RNA). AMONG THE VARIOUS APPLICATIONS, MANY IN VITRO DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL DEVICES (IVDS) FOR THE DETERMINATION AND QUANTIFICATION OF VIRUSES BY RECOGNITION AND QUANTIFICATION OF NUCLEIC ACID SEQUENCES CHARACTERISTIC OF EACH PATHOGENIC MICRO-ORGANISM ARE BASED ON IT. THE INCREASING SPREAD OF THESE METHODS HAS BEEN ACCOMPANIED BY THE NEED FOR INCREASING AUTOMATION TO SUPPORT THE INCREASED LOADS OF ANALYSIS REQUIRED, REDUCE THE LIKELIHOOD OF HUMAN ERROR AND ENSURE TRACEABILITY IN THE PROCESS.
