    THE PROJECT CONCERNS THE STUDY AND DEVELOPMENT OF SECURITY APPLICATIONS IN INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS DISTRIBUTED IN REAL TIME, MAINLY BASED ON FIELDBUSES AND RTE NETWORKS. IN PARTICULAR, TWO POPULAR NETWORKS SUCH AS CANOPEN AND ETHERCAT AND SOME SECURITY PROTOCOLS KNOWN AS CANOPEN SAFETY, PROFISAFE AND FAIL SAFE OVER ETHERCAT (FSOE) WILL BE CONSIDERED WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF ACHIEVING EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF REMOTE CONTROL VIA REMOTE CONTROLS OF MOBILE INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT. THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF TWO LINES OF ACTIVITY: — A METHODOLOGICAL/THEORETICAL ACTIVITY IN WHICH THE STATE OF THE ART OF INDUSTRIAL NETWORKS AND PROTOCOLS WILL BE ANALYSED, TOGETHER WITH PERFORMANCE INDICES, IN PARTICULAR WITH RESPECT TO IIOT AND INDUSTRY 4.0 SYSTEMS. — A MORE APPLIED ACTIVITY LINE IN WHICH THE DEVELOPMENT OF SIMULATION MODELS WILL BE CARRIED OUT AND THE POSSIBLE EXECUTION OF PRACTICAL TESTS ON PROTOTYPE SYSTEMS.
